What is bb2ms ?

bb2ms is the most up-to-date data management tool available for Bloomberg™ financial data.
It facilitates the download of daily price history directly from the Bloomberg™ API (BBComm) and automatically converts it into a compatible data format for charting in TradeStation 2000i® and MetaStock® technical analysis software.

bb2ms couldn't be easier to use and requires minimal computer skills to master. The intuitive user interface and scheduled download features reduce data maintenance to the absolute minimum, leaving the user free to focus on technical analysis. Bloomberg™ price history is plotted in your technical analysis software in the usual way, so nothing could be easier if you are an existing TradeStation or MetaStock user. Any other TA software must be MetaStock format (7.2 +) compliant.

Features

• Price history:
  bb2ms can download the entire price history each time you add a new financial instrument to your database.
   

• Stock index function:
  Automatically add all index members (constituents) and download their price history. You can also import a custom list of securities and download price history.
   

• Scheduled or manual download
  bb2ms can automatically detect the date range since you last downloaded Bloomberg™ price history, and requests the exact number of days required to fill any gaps.
  
  - Scheduled download: Specify the time(s) when bb2ms download(s) price history.
  - Manual download: Download price history whenever you want.
   

• Data control:
  bb2ms includes multiple filters to ensure data integrity.
   

• Trade data adjustment
  bb2ms checks the previous day's data, especially volume and open interest, which is usually delivered one or more days after the respective trading day. Trade corrections can also be made to your historical database for a predefined number of days.
   

• Bulk updates:
  bb2ms is able to download price history for any number of securities during a single update, limited only by the available history from the Bloomberg™ servers.
   

• Download control:
  All download activity can be logged for control purposes. A download report is also available.
   

• Stock splits, etc.:
  Stock splits are identified and the user alerted.
   

• Chart view:
  bb2ms includes an integrated "quick view" utility for an immediate visualisation of data integrity. If necessary, you can view downloaded price history in chart format and manually modify it.

  bb2ms creates data files in MetaStock 7.2. compatible format, therefore, your charting software must be able to read this format. bb2ms can also read and write MetaStock 8.0 data format.
